TL;DR 3/15/12: Diablo 3, Internet Monitoring, Tiberium Alliances, Luck

In the UK there’s a CCTV system in place that only allows motorists to pump gas once their license plate number has been logged. Currently this is a measure to deter theft and drive-offs. There are plans to use the system to keep the pumps locked down if the driver doesn’t have insurance. This is an amazing idea. It’s probably going to get a few cashiers hurt, but it’s for the greater good.

Disclaimer Ahoy!

Blizzard has announced May 15 as the release date for Diablo 3. Players of World of Warcraft can sign up for an annual pass and get a free digital copy of Diablo 3 when it releases. Before you get too giddy I want to point out the lengthy disclaimer at the end. It’s mostly just Blizzard covering themselves, but it does point out that it’s not a guarantee.

Ah, Surveillance

I hope you're cool with your every move being under scrutiny.

Internet Service Providers are going to start monitoring web traffic on behalf of the RIAA and MPAA to combat piracy. If you’re suspected of pirating you’ll be notified and if it keeps happening they’ll take action. It could be anything from throttling to disconnecting your service until you agree to stop pirating. If you want some semblance of privacy, I recommend canceling your service. Cold turkey is hard but it’s the only way.

It’s Here

I see... lot's of time I'll never get back.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for the free-to-play Command & Conquer, your wait is over. Tiberium Alliances has entered open beta. It’s browser based, so there’s no download. You’ve got no reason not to try it out.

Maybe They Shouldn’t Have Named It “Luck”

If the show had kept going, we'd never have to worry about running out of glue.

HBO has canceled a show I’ve never even heard of because of their third horse death on set. The first season saw 2 unlucky horses put out of their misery so I’m surprised it got a second season. You know what’s really sad? The majority of the comments on the article are about how sad people are to see the show canceled. Allow me to read between the lines of a few comments, “They may have had a horrid track record, but I don’t care as long as the show was good.”

Well, I was looking for something to tide me over until Armored Core 5 releases next week and the internet gods have smiled upon me. I think I need to go sacrifice an old router to show my appreciation. If you like what you see here, check me out on Twitter @kelknaughty.

TL;DR 3/6/12: GAME, Hercules, Hawken, Iran

TL;DR 3/6/12: GAME, Hercules, Hawken, Iran

This is something that I’ve suspected for a while. Apparently it’s finally been scientifically confirmed that redheads feel pain differently than “normals.” They’re more sensitive to cold but get a +1 to resist stinging pain and anesthetics. They also get toothaches more often and have a higher risk of sclerosis and endometriosis. Well… at least tattoos don’t hurt me as much as most people.

Kick ‘Em While They’re Down

They had to rework their open signs to break the news to people.

GAME, The United Kingdom's biggest gaming retailer, may be in its death throes. After announcing that they couldn't stock The Last Story or Mass Effect 3 things were looking a little grim. Now they won't be stocking Street Fighter X Tekken or Asura's Wrath. I'll let you know more when I find anything else out.

Can You Smell What Hercules Is Cooking

This is not how you infuse a weapon with poison damage.

Dwayne Johnson is going to be playing Hercules in the movie based on the Radical comic. The comic is amazingly brutal, so I'll be extremely disappointed with a rating less than R.

December Needs To Get Here

Who's a sexy mechy girl?

There's a new trailer for Hawken, and it looks pretty sweet. Not too shabby for an Indie game. I know what I'll be doing on 12/12/12, do you?

Good News

If you tweak it a little and turn it on its side, you're in Italy!

The man that Iran was accusing of spying for the CIA has had his death sentence overturned. He's still in custody, but the situation is looking a little better.

Ah, news just the way I like it. Mostly good with a sprinkle of bad. If you've got any sites you'd like me to keep an eye on let me know either in the comments or on Twitter, @kelknaughty.
