TL;DR 3/16/12: Gamespot, Baldur’s Gate, Obsidian, Leprechaun,

Have you ever played a game of D&D with somebody you were sure was trying to cheat their dice rolls? That’ll be a thing of the past with a Pop-able D20. It’s just like a Sorry! dice roller, but with a D20 in it. Why hasn’t anybody made these before?!

Scandalous!

The job title should have been Salesman if that's what they wanted.

Do you remember about five years ago when a writer for Gamespot left the site and everyone was sure it had something to do with his negative review of Kane & Lynch? Well, it’s confirmed now, that’s exactly what happened. It wasn’t the editorial management of Gamespot or the developers of Kane & Lynch that did the deed, it was senior people that are no longer part of Gamespot. That’s why I don’t trust any review score, I read the middle of the road user reviews. They tend to point out the flaws while still managing to write about any redeeming factors.

Old Is New, I Guess

Why compete with Diablo 3 when we can compete with Diablo 2?

Were you curious about the countdown on the Baldur's Gate website? It turns out that instead of being something amazing we're getting an enhanced editions of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2. Don't get me wrong, that's still cool. I was just hoping for something new.

Crap Sandwich

When the thing you're named after looks like a lump of shiny crap...

Obsidian let go about 30 employees earlier this week and it turns out there's a reason. Obsidian's deal with Bethesda was just a one-time payment with no royalties for Fallout: New Vegas. They'd receive a bonus if the Metacritic score was an 85 or higher. It got an 84. On top of the layoff they canceled a project that had been in the works already for 7 months. In short, we may be missing out on a great, but flawed, game thanks to a crappy deal based on Metacritic.

Professor Flitwick?

WWE films and Lionsgate are going to be teaming up to revive Leprechaun. It's a two movie deal, so we're in for the long haul. All I know is that I'll only watch it if Warwick Davis reprises his titular role.

I've played quite a bit of Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances and I've got to say, I'm a little let down. All of the PvP is locked until next week and it's a lot like a Facebook game. Anyway, this has been another TL;DR brought to you by @kelknaughty. Look for me on Twitter.
