TL;DR 4/16/12: Tupac, Linkin Park, Falcon, Avengers, Iron Man 3

TL;DR 4/16/12: Tupac, Linkin Park, Falcon, Avengers, Iron Man 3

Welcome to TL;DR. Kell is off doing something else. I won’t spoil what he’s doing, just know that a thumb is involved and there will be lots of spinning.

Thug Life?

What’s creepier, the fact that last night the long-deceased Tupac Shakur joined Snoop Dogg on stage as a hologram at the Coachella festival or the fact that you know someone reading this has no idea who Tupac is? I can tell you that the hologram looks pretty bad ass and I’m interested to see what other people will do with the technology.

Cleaning up the Park

Is there anything significant today? Not really, unless it’s your birthday, you know something I don’t, or if you’re a fan of Linkin Park.  Today Linkin Park updated their site with their new single from their upcoming June release, Living Things. You should give it a listen; it’s the weirdest culmination of everything they’ve done. Mike Shinoda assures us that this album will be using all of the tools they’ve culminated throughout their career, using similar themes from their older music; however, the band won’t be returning to its nu-metal beginnings. After an amazing score on The Raid: Redemption I feel I owe it to Mr. Shinoda to give the album a shot.

George Lucas is going to Sue Someone

This next bit totally isn’t worth putting on here, but it’s so dumb and nerdy that it totally is. No story, just the sad realization that someone stared at Google maps for so long that they finally spotted the Falcon. Take that MOM!

Geeks are Sexy

Avengers Assemble

After the multiple screenings of the Avengers, everyone who has seen it has been talking about how great it is, especially Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. What you might not know is that Joss Whedon has promised that there will be at least 30 minutes of deleted scenes on the Blu-ray/DVD.  Most of these scenes were pulled because he wanted to tighten up the movie’s considerable length and cut himself (figuratively) out of the movie.  I’m just hoping that we can get an extended cut, which he’s pretty much already said he won’t give. PEER PRESSURE! PEER PRESSURE! PEER PRESSURE!

Iron Man 3 Orders Out

It was announced today that Iron Man 3 will be co-financed by the Chinese production company DMG Entertainment.  This is a positive because it will get the movie out to a much bigger audience and increase the budget, which is totally convenient because Iron Man 3 is also set to do a few scenes in China. For you, this only means one thing, you’re going to be seeing Iron Man 3 in 3D. I’m just hoping they don’t do the worst possible thing and name it Iron Man 3D.

Well that’s it for our Monday TL;DR. With any luck Mr. K-Naughty will be back on TL;DR tomorrow to save you from my sexual prowess…er… I mean, this is awkward. I’ll show myself out. Before I go, If you want more of me be sure to follow me on twitter @teamasunder and Kell @kelknaughty.

TL;DR 4/11/12: Gamestop, Tumors, Charles Manson, Mass Effect 3

TL;DR 4/11/12: Gamestop, Tumors, Charles Manson, Mass Effect 3

You may remember SOPA and PIPA from earlier this year. There’s a new Orwellian bill in town. It’s called CISPA, The Cyber Intelligence and Sharing Act, and it’s geared more toward straight up spying on your internet habits and then blocking you from certain sites. Progress!

Good Guy California

*When court ordered

Gamestops in California are required to post warnings about some used games requiring an additional charge to access the DLC that a new copy would come with. Customers that were burned by a used game can also get back the money they had to pay for the additional content they thought came with the game. Sometimes California can do the right thing when it comes to video games.

Makes You Wonder…

You're now thinking back to every time you've had one of these and freaking out a little.

A common dental x-ray has been linked to a certain type of brain tumor that just so happens to be the most common. Sometimes the odds of someone with a tumor confirming they had the x-ray were up to 5 times higher. Now I'm wondering if it's the most common because of the x-rays. It's times like these when I celebrate being too poor to go to the dentist.

Really?

Is it just me, or does he resemble Saddam Hussein?

Charles Manson's parole hearing is going on right now as I'm writing this. There was a quick tinge of horror at the fact that he may get it when I first found out, then I remembered this video:

False Advertising

Am I the only one that's just about sick of hearing about this game?

A writer on the Better Business Bureau Blog has thrown the gauntlet and is comfortable saying that Mass Effect was falsely advertised. Don't get up in arms just yet. Read the article, because she has some good points. Just make sure you steer clear of the comments if you're worried about spoilers.

That's it for this Hump Day. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch that Manson video on a loop because that never gets old. @kelknaughty

TL;DR 4/10/12: Iron Man 3, Persona 4, Best Buy, Akira

TL;DR 4/10/12: Iron Man 3, Persona 4, Best Buy, Akira

At least one state is doing the right thing. A bill passed in Maryland banning employers from asking for login information for social networks. Now a few other states are introducing bills since somebody else took the plunge first.

Iron Man 3: Now 30% More Badass

It'll be bumped up to 45% if he smokes in the movie because we all know smoking instantly makes you 15% more badass.

Ben Kingsley may be joining the cast of Iron Man 3 but he definitely won’t be playing Mandarin. The plot is going to be based on the Extremis storyline so it’s going to be hard to make it a bad movie. They’re going to start filming next month and it’s set to hit theaters May 3 next year.

Maybe Hire Them Before You Announce It?

The best/funniest moments of the show happen when they're not dealing with shadows.

The English voice cast of Persona 4 on Playstation 2 was announced at Anime Boston as the English voice cast for the Persona 4 anime. Wait a minute. When the actors were asked questions about it they had no idea. You would think somebody would have thought to make sure to let them know they were hired.

Circling The Drain

Apparently their logo doesn't apply to the stock market.

The CEO of Best Buy stepped down this morning. They’re going to be closing 50 larger stores and shift their focus and open several smaller Best Buy Mobile stores. Meanwhile their stock is taking a serious dive. Who wants to volunteer to mercy-kill Best Buy?

That’s One Way To Do It

No word on the driver having a friend with psychic powers.

A fan of Akira created a replica of Kaneda's bike and now he's riding across Japan to raise money for a children's autism charity. His destination is Tokyo where the bike will be put on display and fans can have pictures taken with it. What could possibly make this story cooler? Katsuhiro Otomo, creator of Akira, has officially recognized the replica bike.

I wonder how many of these closers I can write before I end up repeating myself completely. Hmm... Now I'm starting to wonder if I've done it already. I... I've gotta go. There's... something... I need to do. @kelknaughty
