That's the best way to go about it as well. I think that if you are at least willing to try the game first then you have the right to complain about what you didn't like.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the ending of Mass Effect 3, but the game was great. I was unhappy with the somewhat forced option to buy the Prothean DLC, but I really felt shortchanged in the end of the game having grown to like the Prothean and the other characters in the game. I never signed any petition to change the ending, but I for one will be happy to experience a new ending. I don't get caught up in all of the trolling or whatever it is called that people think is destroying Bioware. I didn't buy into the hype of SWTOR, but I would likely judge the game for what it were if I played it. I don't get the big deal. Here's a company with a product that people didn't like enough to request improvements on it. It's as simple as that. They are creating a better ending to please their customers and fan base. It's a paradigm shift in gaming, but it's a tactic as old as the profession of manufacturing products for customers. I am not sure what all the fuss is about with wishing Bioware would stick to their guns. I think they did, and the customers will be happy.

David Fink Barrentine I haven't played the 3rd one, but 1 and 2 both only had one way the game would end. A couple details would be different depending on some of your choices, but there was no getting around The Citadel being attacked or going toe to toe with a Reaper.

Kelly Mariomario Loubagelbagel McNaughton As stated before though, 30% less effect. What's the point of even providing the game if you can choose an ending of your choice? It doesn't have the same punch as it would being that there is only one ending or various endings based on the imagination of the "writers" and not the "players". It would be like me producing a game of DnD and saying, "Now provide me with the way each of you wants this game to end and we'll say that's what happens." To be fair though, I haven't played the Mass Effect series so I don't know exactly what all the complaining is over. I just know there is a slew of it.

David Fink Barrentine Pretty much. I bet if the original ending was something that was as fan-servicey as the new ending is going to be, people would have had just as many fits about it.

Kelly Mariomario Loubagelbagel McNaughton That's what I thought as well. I can't recall who actually presented me with that rebuttal in the first place, all I remember is wanting to lay out the analogy of child rearing and babysitting. It's as if Kanye West looked at the game and said, "I like what you're doing and Imma let you finish, but..." This should be where fan fic picks up instead.

David Fink Barrentine They may be getting paid to write a new ending, but the fact that the original ending was seen as something to be done away with seems like a slap to the face.

Kelly Mariomario Loubagelbagel McNaughton Now here's an argument I've heard before, "The new ending is supporting the writers because it pays them to continue writing." Any thoughts?

David Fink Barrentine Yeah, if enough people just keep hating on the company just for the sake of hating it could ruin them. My biggest gripe about them at this point is their lack of a backbone and not supporting their writers that worked hard for the initial ending of ME3. That just seems like a big slap in the face to their employees.
